A basic run through of how a case takes shape

corner postPost insert Corner post and steel insert.
The slots are for the side glazing panels

moulding X section A cross secton of a base moulding with part of mdf insert.
Shows the step down to the main mdf baseboard. This is useful in that a supplementary baseboard (e.g. felt covered) is easily dropped in place. Also a useful feature for a diorama base for waterline models.

case base

Completed base with 2 corner posts in position.
Note that protective film is invariably left in place on the acrylic whilst work is in progress.
Not shown is the supplementary mdf lift out base.

case c omponents Same case with final panel going into place. Also shows the top cover.
ALL cases are pre-assembled to ensure that everything fits as it should.

The case is now dismantled, the wood given its final fine sanding and finish before being packed for shipping.

Case Doukaki Another ready for final preparation and shipping. In this instance to a customer in Greece.
Radford case This case was relatively tall and narrow.
Every one is different!
